BODY STRUCTURE
The Great White Shark's body is much more interesting than it may seem. Their skin looks very smooth at first glance, but is actually quite rough. They blend into the rocky bottom of the ocean floor using their back, which is slate grey, and that makes it easy to sneak up on their prey for a meal or snack. You might be wondering "Why are they called great white sharks if they are grey?" well, they are called that because their whole under side is just completely white. They have all sorts of scratches and scares on their snouts from their prey which is always trying to fight back, but almost always lose. Even though the great white shark can not protect their snouts from getting scratches and other damage, they can roll their eyes back into their head to protect their vision. The great white shark has a triangular top fin and a very fast, strong, crescent shaped tail. Unlike most animals the great white shark has a cartilaginous skeleton in place for bones. Their big, fat, oily livers is what keeps this shark floating instead sinking to the bottom of the sea. They have big, thick muscles because they are very strong from all of the fights they've been in. They are very big creatures, for instance they can weigh up to 5.000 pounds (2.268 kilograms.) There intestine has something called a spiral valve and they also have a system of blood vessels that supply the gills with blood. All of these body parts make the great white shark the most viscous predator of the sea, and, in our opinion, we should try to find out more about the great white shark's amazing bodies.
